A few years ago I started a Wreck this Journal, but I never finished it. I bought a new Journal last month and I finally started working on this new book.
What is Wreck this Journal?
In case you haven’t heard about Wreck this Journal before, it’s basically an creative activity notebook for adults created by Keri Smith. Each page has different directions on it and you can interpret the task any way you like. It’s about thinking out of the box and coloring outside of the lines.
Through a series of creatively and quirkily illustrated prompts, acclaimed artist Keri Smith encourages journalers to engage in ‘destructive’ acts in order to experience the true creative process. Readers are introduced to a new way of art and journal making, discovering novel ways to escape the fear of the blank page and fully engage in the creative process.
Examples of the tasks you can find in the Journal;
Sometimes life can get overwhelming.. Just the other day I wasn’t doing great and my colleague send me a text saying that she was thinking of me. It was a simple act of kindness and it was just what I needed. Sometimes it’s the smallest act that makes the biggest impact.
Random Acts of Kindness – Day
Tomorrow, February 17, it’s Random Acts of Kindness – day. I believe every day should be a day to be kind, but let’s try a bit harder tomorrow. Being kind and compassionate not only helps other people, but also makes one happy and healthier. Maybe this has something to do with karma. Maybe it’s just because when you do good to others, you notice good things around you.
And don’t forget; Kindness is free and most acts of kindness don’t take up more than a minute of your time.
Every month I include a Habit Tracker in my Bullet Journal. It’s one of the things I love about my Bullet Journaling and it’s one of the things that boosts my productivity. It’s a chart which allows me to keep track of my habits and to see how I’m progressing. It’s a helpful tool to manage my time and to see what I do on a daily (or not so daily) basis. Also Habit Trackers are a great way to save you time re-writing the same tasks multiple times per week to remind you to do those tasks.
In 2017 I started with Bullet Journaling. For 2018 I started in a new journal. I write down my plans and goals, but I also like to make lists and track things. One of the things I track in my Bullet Journal are the postcards I send with Postcrossing.
What is Postcrossing? Postcrossing is a project that allows you to send and recieve postcards from all over the world. You can sign up for free. After signing up, you can request an address of a random member. Now you can write and send a postcard. For each postcard you send, you will receive one back.
Even as a child I used to keep diaries. Last year I kept a Junk Journal for the first time.
A Junk Journal is a handmade book made up of different kinds of paper. It can be used as a diary.
My Junk Journal is made of design paper, vintage pages from old books and pieces of cloth. I use it as a diary to document events and thoughts, but I also use it for collages. One of the collages I made in my 2017 Junk Journal was about coffee.
