Today I received my book box from Celebrate Books, a Dutch book subscription service that offered an English book box for March. The theme of this box was ‘Stories that create music’. About this box they said;
“Raise up your alternating voices! This box is all about love, grief and a story that sings directly to your heart. This solid contemporary book will make you fall in love with endearing and diverse characters. You are going to need those tissues.”
Stories That Create Music Box
Curious to find out what was inside this box?
Scented soy candle
The first thing I opened in this box, was the scented soy candle by Letters & Lights, a Dutch store that sells handmade bookish candles. The soy candle smells like vanilla, which I love. The candle has a label that says Eleanor & Park, which is a novel by Rainbow Rowell in which music plays a role. I haven’t read this book, but I adore this scented candle.
My absolute favorite part of this box is the mug illustrated by TJ Lubrano. It says ‘Be our guest’, which is a song from Beauty and the Beast. As a kid my favorite Disney movie was Beauty and the Beast and I still enjoy the story. This will be my new every-day-tea-mug!
A bath salth by Oriandle, a Dutch store that sells bookish bath salts, lipbalms and teas. The bath salt is a blend of cedar, musk and lilies. It’s called August Flynn, who is a character from the novel This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab.
Playing cards by Celebrate Books. These are ‘Animal’ themed cards. I love the Hedwig one. This is the first box I ordered from Celebrate Books, so unfortunately I don’t have the other playing cards. These were included in other boxes.
Last but not least.. The book included in this box was The Beauty That Remains by Ashley Woodfolk. The book came with a signed bookplate.
This book sounds like an emotional read and I am looking forward to reading it.
“Music brought Autumn, Shay, and Logan together. Death wants to tear them apart.
Autumn always knew exactly who she was—a talented artist and a loyal friend. Shay was defined by two things: her bond with her twin sister, Sasha, and her love of music. And Logan always turned to writing love songs when his love life was a little less than perfect. But when tragedy strikes each of them, somehow music is no longer enough. Now Logan can’t stop watching vlogs of his dead ex-boyfriend. Shay is a music blogger struggling to keep it together. And Autumn sends messages that she knows can never be answered. Despite the odds, one band’s music will reunite them and prove that after grief, beauty thrives in the people left behind.”
This box was worth the wait.
What is your favorite item of this box? Have you read The Beauty That Remains?
