The Books I Want to Read in January

January TBR

First of all.. Happy New Year! I wish you a wonderful 2019 filled with joy, amazing books and love.

My goal is to read 52 books this year, one for each week. This month I hope to read 5 books, that would be a good start.

My biggest goal, or focus point, for 2019 is to do more things that make me happy. I want to spend more time with the people I love, read more, start a new course and keep up with my blog.

Let’s take a look at my January TBR!

January e-ARC's

The e-ARC’s on my January TBR

  • An Anonymous Girl – Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen
Seeking women ages 18–32 to participate in a study on ethics and morality. Generous compensation. Anonymity guaranteed.”
This sounds like a twisted thriller and I’m very excited to read this e-ARC!
  • The Bird King – G. Willow Wilson
An epic journey set during the reign of the last sultan in the Iberian peninsula at the height of the Spanish Inquisition.
I haven’t read many historical fantasy novels, but I’m very curious about this story. And I adore the cover..!

The books on my January TBR

Last year I’ve bought a lot (that’s an understatement..) of books and I plan to read as many of them as I possibly can.

  • The Cruel Prince – Holly Black
Jude was seven when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie.
I’ve had this book on my shelves for a while now, but I haven’t read it yet.. The Wicked King, the sequel of The Cruel Prince, will be published on January 8, so I thought this would be a great time to finally start reading this YA Fantasy.
  • Oktober – Søren Sveistrup
A nail-bitingly thrilling crime novel from the script writer behind The Killing.
(In English: The Chestnut Man) I loved the TV-series The Killing and I can’t wait to read this thriller.

Audiobooks January

The audiobooks on my January TBR

  • The Last of August – Brittany Cavallaro
Jamie Watson and Charlotte Holmes are looking for a winter-break reprieve after a fall semester that almost got them killed. A distraction arises soon enough, because Charlotte’s beloved uncle Leander goes missing from the estate.
The second book in the Charlotte Holmes series. I adored the first novel, so I’m excited to start with this audiobook.
  • One of Us is Lying – Karen McManus
Everyone has secrets, right? What really matters is how far you’ll go to protect them.
I love a good mystery and I’ve read amazing thigns about this book.
